Counting down to Fieldays 2014

There are just 30 days to go until Fieldays 2014, and the line-up for this year’s event is already looking better than ever.

Counting down to Fieldays 2014!

‘Managing resources for a competitive advantage’ is the theme at this year’s Fieldays, which are set to take place at the Mystery Creek Events Centre in Hamilton from 11-14 June. 

The Fieldays innovation competition is back again in 2014, with three award categories and four different innovation awards to connect inventors and would-be entrepreneurs with global opportunities and industry leaders. 

The Fieldays Innovation Den will see inventors pitch their innovations to a panel of investors Dragons’ Den-style and try to convince them to back their products with investment and advice. 

Meanwhile, the New Zealand Fencing Championships will also be held at Fieldays 2014 alongside the Fairbrothers speed fencing competition and demonstrations by Taragate fencing solutions. 

The ever-popular tractor pull competition will see five different weight classes compete to see how far a tractor can get before the weight becomes too much. There will also be a modified tractor contest and an exhibitor challenge, where Fieldays exhibitors compete over a slalom course. 

Forestry workers will demonstrate their logging skills at Fieldays 2014, digger operators will compete in the national excavator competition and someone will be crowned the rural bachelor of the year. 

As always, a series of seminars will keep Kiwi farms abreast of what’s happening in the industry. Guest speakers at Fieldays 2014 will include people from the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric  Research (NIWA), PGG Wrightsons, XERO and the University of Waikato. 

There will be around 900 exhibitors on site at Fieldays 2014, including Farm Trader. Be sure to come visit us at our stand at D35.
