The power of technology and the significance of a rich heritage were key focuses for Case IH and New Holland at this year’s Fieldays
With its presence onsite and the role of Case IH as a premium sponsor of the event, along with the centenary of the Farmall tractor, it was an important event for those involved in the brand and its wider family.
As part of the centenary celebrations, a number of vintage Farmalls took centre stage at the Case IH site this year, providing an eye-catching contrast to their modern-day counterparts. There was also a special Farmall cake made of 100 lamingtons, which was part of a public official cake-cutting to mark the centenary.
Celebrating its centenary, the Farmalls on display at Fieldays offered a slice of rural history
Visitors also enjoyed a small piece of Case IH history, with the brand giving away 100 miniature replica Case IH tractors on each day of Fieldays to the first 100 people through the gate.
“This was a significant celebration for this iconic tractor, which has played such a big role in agriculture’s evolution, both here and around the globe,” says Murray Grant, CNH Industrial commercial business manager, New Zealand.
“This display of older Farmalls and current models at this year’s Fieldays showed just how far this tractor has come, and indeed all our tractors, in terms of technology features, design and comfort.”
Case IH also proudly sponsored the popular Fieldays’ tractor pull, which drew the crowds with the roar of the engines and vibration of the sled, with heats throughout the week leading up to the hotly-anticipated finals on Saturday.
The New Holland site boasted some of the largest agricultural machinery on the grounds, with the New Holland Braud Grape Harvester and the FR Forage Cruiser (forage harvester) on display and proving a popular backdrop for those looking for impressive social media selfies.
The grape harvester, in particular, has been a standout performer for New Holland in the New Zealand wine industry for more than 35 years, with some of the nation’s finest vineyards trusting their crops to the machine.
New Holland also hosted a Farm to Fieldays event at its site, showcasing some of the goods the brand’s customers produce with the help of New Holland machinery.
New Holland was also a finalist in the 2023 Fieldays Innovation Awards in the Growth and Scale category, recognising successful innovation products or services looking to grow through new markets, exports, or increased supply chains. The brand was a finalist for its XPower XPS, utilising electrophysical weeding technology.
