Welcome to Farm Trader, a family-owned and operated brand, dedicated to shining the spotlight on all things agricultural, particularly farm and contractor machinery and innovation.
Owned by Kiwi farming couple Jaiden and Hannah Drought, the couple are passionate about being part of the wider farming community and helping promote its associated businesses and brands.
Jaiden brings over a decade of machinery testing and writing experience as Farm Trader‘s core machinery reviewer and video presenter. He has also co-hosted the popular Australasian machinery show Mighty Machines. His machinery experience includes roles with globally leading brands and as president of the Tractor and Machinery Association (TAMA).
Alongside managing their Northland dairy farm, Jaiden and Hannah have four sons who are farm-mad and are showing signs that heavy metal runs in the blood. This shared passion fuels Jaiden and Hannah’s commitment to supporting the agricultural industry.
“I’ve grown up as part of this industry, been involved in it all my life, and am genuinely passionate about it,” says Jaiden.
“Farm Trader gives me an opportunity to help connect buyers and sellers and play a role in celebrating and showcasing this industry.
“Remarkably, despite a global decline in print magazines, Farm Trader continues to grow its readership, bucking the trends for print magazines in general and showing that niche magazines with specialist content still have relevance.
“To build on this, we’re dedicated to continuing to create unique machinery reviews and content, as well as a constant focus on Farm Trader’s strong online Buy/Sell platform. We’re delighted to celebrate 2024 by relaunching the magazine as a quarterly publication with seasonal content.
“It’s been a challenging few years for machinery and agriculture in general, and we’re aiming to work with brands and dealers to reinvigorate as many facets of the industry as we can.”
