Event report: Corson Maize Open Day event report

An opportunity for growers to get up close and personal with the newest maize hybrids from Corson Maize was presented at the recent Corson Maize Open Day in Newstead, Waikato

An array of ag machinery was also part of the event, supported by Giltrap AgriZone.

“Although a slight drizzly day for the event, we still had more than 100 growers in attendance looking at all our new maize hybrids and the work we’re doing on populations and disease tolerance to maximise yield and quality,” says Corson Maize National Business manager Graeme Austin.

“The population wheel demonstration proved a big hit with lots of discussion on the impact of populations on hybrid performance.

“We really appreciated the support from Giltrap AgriZone (CNH) with the latest forage harvester on display.”
