Hitachi to unveil new digger

Hitachi Construction Machinery Co Ltd is set to unveil the latest edition to the Zaxis-3 excavator range, the 16-tonne ZX160-3 excavator, in New Zealand at the Southern Hemisphere’s largest agriculture trade show – Fieldays, from June 13-16 2007 at Hamilton’s Mystery Creek Events Centre.

CablePrice (NZ) Ltd, subsidiary company of the Japanese machinery manufacturer and sole New Zealand distributors for Hitachi Construction Machinery say Fieldays is the perfect event in which to launch its latest model.

"The 16-tonne digger has proven to be a popular machine for a wide variety of operators, including contractors and farmers, so is well suited to a Fieldays release".

The new ZX160-3 digger will join the 20-80 tonne machines with the latest Zaxis-3 technology and fully compliant Tier III emission ratings.

The first of the Hitachi "dash three" excavator range was released in early 2006 and were the first excavators in New Zealand to comply with latest emission standards.

The dash three excavators showcase revolutionary hydraulic and low-emission diesel engine technology as well as numerous servicing and safety features including improved access and service points, stronger cabin structures; industry-first mounted rear view cameras as standard, and increased visibility from the cabin.

Although much of the technology on the Hitachi ZX160-3 has been made available through the first stage release of the dash three models (20-80 tonnes) in 2006, CablePrice say the ZX160-3 is an agile and flexible machine with a weight class that suits many different operations.

The 16-tonne dash three Zaxis combines the power of a four-cylinder Isuzu 4JJ1 engine with the efficient performance of Hitachi’s HIOS-II designed hydraulic system.

CablePrice’s Marketing Manager, Glenn Croasdale says "the ZX160-3 will take centre stage on CablePrice’s duel-site (E104 and E106), but will by no means be the end of what will be displayed. We will also display a varied assortment of relevant products to visitors attending Fieldays".

At Fieldays, CablePrice can be found on adjoining sites E104 and E106 on the corner of E street.
