Despite the devastation Cyclone Gabrielle left in its wake, Northland Field Days was back on the calendar for 2023

It’s been two years since the event was last held, and a determined organising committee, group of volunteers and wider community managed to successfully host three days of action, which included the Northern Region Fencing Competition and Northland Sheep Dog Trials.

While the site was under 500mm of water just 10 days before the event opened, a massive effort by all involved saw the gates open early morning to a cloud of fog, which quickly cleared for three days of sunshine and positivity.

Kudos to Halter who took out the Northland Field Days Best New Exhibitor Award, while Dargaville Ford took top honour for the Best Outdoor Site.
