Profile: Strautmann universal spreader

The impressive Strautmann PS 2201 and PS3401 spreaders are ideal for those who value manure as fertiliser and wish to spread it accurately or in standing livestock

With an impressive 80-plus year history, Strautmann machinery is well-recognised globally.

The range has been available in New Zealand since 1983, when Strautmann NZ was set up, importing agricultural machinery from the Strautmann factory in Bad Laer, Germany.

With almost 60 years of spreader experience, Strautmann has continued to develop and evolve its spreader to create the modern-day professional spreader suitable for pretty much any application.

Due to its large capacity and robust body, the range of PS spreaders is an excellent reflection of Strautmann continuing to set standards in terms of stability, long service life, and flexibility.

Strautmann spreader features

The 2201:

  • Loading capacity of 20 to 25m3
  • Efficient universal spreading unit with a spreading width of up to 24m
  • Hydraulic tandem chassis with optional life axle and suspension
  • Follow up steering or electronic hydraulic forced steering axle

The 3401:

  • Loading capacity of 26 to 32m3
  • Efficient universal spreading unit with a spreading width of up to 24m
  • Hydraulic tridem chassis with lift axle and electronic hydraulic forced steering axle

The spreading unit drive in the professional version features cardan shafts instead of chains and angular gears instead of chain wheels, resulting in a low amount of maintenance required with a long service life.

Another key feature is the adjustment of the spreading unit bonnet, which enables adaption to any kind of spreading material and conditions. The easy adjustment of spreading quality in height and depth also saves power and diesel and offers uncompromising precision.

Strautmann versatility

Make the most of your Strautmann machine and swap the body over for the utmost in versatility. If mobility is of maximum importance, Strautmann PS spreader bodies can be easily mounted onto a corresponding lorry chassis.

This is the ideal solution for road travel, is cost-effective, and offers low maintenance even on long distances.

The spreader and forage transport wagon can be switched over onto the same chassis, so at the change of season, simply exchange the body for maximising efficiency of use.

ISOBUS control

The ISOBUS control significantly reduces operator stress, with functional sequences able to be grouped in workflows.

Sensors allow improved machine control, while status indicators help provide information about the steering axle, hydraulic slurry door, and speed of the spreading unit components.

The ISOBUS control and spreading quantity control:

  • Ideally adapted to the spreader by means of the Field Operator 120
  • Intuitive operation. Clear symbols on the illuminated membrane keyboard.
  • Machine status and integrated transported loads counter
  • Optional integrated weighing system
