BA Pumps & Sprayers has put together eight tips on how to get the best out of your sprayer
It’s almost time to start those autumn spraying jobs so BA Pumps & Sprayers have put together eight tips on how to get the best out of your sprayer.
- Service your sprayer in the pre-season.
- Watch the weather to reduce product wastage from factors such as wind drift.
- Calibrate your sprayer to ensure the correct product quantity is being delivered to the crop and is routinely checked.
- Spray nozzles are a small but important part of spraying. Read the product instructions and refer to the nozzle manufacturer’s chart to ensure you use the right one for your application.
- Train operators to correctly set up nozzles, fans, and the usage of rate controllers.
- Mix chemicals before adding them to the main tank to ensure product fully dissolves.
- Have a cleaning process in place after each spraying to ensure you remove all product from your sprayer.
- Regularly test and inspect your pressure gauge, flow meters, nozzles, and sprayer output to ensure they’re operating at the optimal settings.
