Danish design is renowned for its quality and efficiency, and the Fransgard range of machinery is the perfect example of these attributes
Imported and distributed by Forestquip (New Zealand’s largest distributor of forestry equipment), the Fransgard range includes the grader blade, disc mowers, rotor rake, combi rake, swath wilter, and conditioner.
Fransgard GT-250GPH grader blade
One of the most hotly sought-after pieces of kit is the GT-250GPH grader blade. The scraper’s vertical angle can be adjusted offering three blade pitch positions, providing a more aggressive clearing angle.
The scraper is adjustable 360 degrees in 10 positions, with tool-free manual adjustment. With a working width of 2.5m and side adjustment of 55cm, it has six-piece ripper tines at a depth of 20cm.
The GT-250S is available as a front model with a short boom, so it does not sit as far ahead of the tractor. The front model can also be reversed and used for pulling behind the tractor.
Two robust cylinders are standard and rotate the blade 23 degrees to each side. Overload protection is provided by the three large springs, and the scraper automatically tilts into place after release. All revolving links can be lubricated.
GT-DK and GT-DKH range
The Fransgard GT-DK grader blade range is available in three working widths, with high base weight and large wheels as standard. The blade is equipped with a unique turntable with interchangeable wearing plates.
The GT-DKH blade is supplied with a hydraulic cylinder for setting the horizontal cutting angle. The blade is also available with a rubbed edge, ideal for use on dairy farms.
The patented turntable has a modular design and is equipped with interchangeable wear discs, avoiding play in the turntable.
Robust suspension and three-point hitch offer two options for adjusting the lift arms, as well as a top bar bracket with two fixed holes. It also has an oval groove, which allows it to follow the terrain more effectively.
Fransgard product range
Forestquip is also importing and distributing Fransgard disc mowers, rotor rakes, front rakes and accessories, combi rakes, and more.
“We’ve been involved with Fransgard for two years,” Richard Henkleman, New Zealand sales manager, says. “Initially, we were focused on the Fransgard forestry winches but we were so impressed at the range that this year we took over importing the full range, and we’re in the process of setting up dealer networks around New Zealand.”
Also likely to find favour with farmers and contractors are the Fransgard three-point
lift-mounted disco mowers. Manufactured and designed to work with a variety of crops, they perform well with large and small quantities of material.
The disc mower comes in four sizes with a working width from 2.5 m to 3.2m. An enclosed oil bath in the robust cutter bar minimises maintenance. The oval discs can be removed for servicing.
