Profile: Krone Big Pack Square Baler

The double strength V Knotter upgrades to the Krone Big Pack Square Baler, newly released Down Under, leads the most recent Krone offerings range

An upgraded Krone square baler, which made its Australian debut earlier this year, is among the newest preseason offerings.

The newly released fifth-generation Big Pack Square Baler features six knotters for higher throughputs in the field.

The revamped knotter configuration also includes a new PowerClean knotter fan system that uses pressure to ensure an air stream runs continuously to all key areas of the baler in order to keep it as clean as possible.

Tested in Australian conditions, the new Big Pack baler range has the same strong performance levels as Krone’s HDP High Speed and Xtreme balers but with the benefit of more bells and whistles.

Krone says the Big Pack Gen 5 range keeps a focus on productivity, offering a reduced cost of ownership while maintaining consistent bale shape and density and operating reliably with other baling components.

Krone product manager Ash Swayn says the Gen 5 range is a game-changer in the baling world.

“The new PowerClean knotter fan system with positive pressure ensures the top and sides of the machine remains clean, allowing you to get on with the job at hand,” Ash says.

“The new V Knotter is now available on all Gen 5 Big Pack Krone balers, making it a game-changer for the environment, but the double strength tied knot also makes it excellent for the export market. It leaves no tail and waste, unlike previous models with cut-off dropping to the ground.

“The Gen 5 model now has a split bale ejector, meaning you can eject just the last bale or empty the full chamber at once, delivering higher efficiencies for farmers out in the field. The performance and reliability of these balers come second to none.”

Other models released in the 2023 preseason range include the Krone EasyWrap 150 round baler.
