The recent Kuhn NZ demo days held around the country were a great opportunity to see some of the latest releases in action
There’s never an ideal time to demonstrate grass and hay equipment unless you have time to head to Europe during the New Zealand winter to see what’s new and may suit our conditions. By the time there’s plenty of grass here suitable for working demo days, everyone’s pretty much flat stick harvesting, etc.
Nevertheless, the recent Kuhn NZ demo days held around the country were a great opportunity to see some of the latest releases in action, including Kuhn GMD triple mowers, tedders, and rakes and the latest Kuhn FBP3135 Fixed Chamber film-on-film BalePack.
Having caught up with James Mitchell from Kuhn NZ at the Central Districts Field Days earlier in the year, it was great to see the FBP 3135 Fixed Chamber combi wrapper in action.
The film-on-film option makes life easier for the contractor making the bales by eliminating the need to carry net and wrap with the same 750mm rolls used to both bind and wrap.
On farm, bales are easily sliced open and ready to feed, with just the wrap to recycle.
The new Kuhn Rake GA13131 4 Rotor is another time-saver, with just one PTO shaft required to run the hydraulic drive pump to drive the four rotors. This reduces time on the daily greasing of shafts as well allowing for quieter operation.
