Kongskilde has launched a heavy-duty transmission for its large complete diet mixers to cater for steadily increasing large dairy herds and the trend towards heavier diet mixes and longer mixing times
The new HD-transmission line consists of a robustly constructed gearbox and PTO shaft that are designed for continuous operation under heavy load.
The gearbox is equipped with an efficient oil cooling system that ensures a constant and optimal operating temperature. The solution includes a gear pump and an oil filter. The HD transmission is offered as an option on Kongskilde’s large VM 38 and 45 diet mixers with three augers.
The HD-transmission line is designed to meet the requirements related to the increasingly intensive use of complete diet mixers. Today, it’s not unusual for a diet mixer to have to produce six to seven mixes per day, with farmers wanting to mix for longer.
“The increasingly intensive use of the diet mixers was also the reason for introducing the Mix+ concept, which has become a great success,” says Jesper Christensen, product manager, feeding at Kongskilde Agriculture.
Mix+ is a wear part concept with replaceable wear parts for the front edges of mixer augers. The concept means that the Kongskilde diet mixer provides a far more uniform mixing quality and that the augers last longer.
“The ‘heavy-duty’ transmission allows us to offer a much stronger solution for farms with very large dairy herds, who are also concerned about low operating costs,” says Jesper.
