Across the ditch: New Holland C362 compact track loader

New Holland’s C362 compact track loader made its Australasian debut at the recent AgQuip Field Days

The first C362 unit to arrive Down Under generated plenty of interest

New Holland introduced the Australian public and New Zealanders visiting AgQuip to its newest and biggest compact track loader.

First launched in the US in late 2021, the first C362 unit to arrive Down Under generated plenty of interest during its Gunnedah appearance last month.

“It’s New Holland’s biggest track loader and it borrows a lot from the small dozers,” says New Holland Construction product manager Jim Pike.

“It’s somewhat of a hybrid between your traditional track loader and a small dozer.

“We’ve had a lot of interest from customers who have old dozers on their farm and see this as something that can replace that and give them the versatility of a track loader with the pushing power of a small dozer.

“We think it’s got a pretty bright future.”

The C362 has 114hp (85kW) at 2500rpm, peak torque of 460Nm at 1400rpm, and weighs in at a powerful 7311kg.

It has a 2811kg-rated operating load at 50% capacity and breakout forces of 5481kg and 5855kg on the lift and bucket cylinders respectively.

It’s fitted with rubber tracks, as standard, but also has a steel track option, which Pike says particularly appeals to customers already running small dozers.

Another standout feature is the Super Boom vertical lift, which offers increased height and reach.
