The new Kuhn Power Feed Roller is designed to produce quality bales with less power as well as increased throughput for efficiency
As harvest windows get shorter, there’s peace of mind knowing intake capacity is geared up a notch with the introduction of Kuhn’s all-new Power Feed Roller (from model year 2021 onwards) on its SB series large square balers.
This driven crop roller actively follows the height of the swath to ensure a continuous and consistent flow of the crop towards the intake roller.
Excellent crop guiding in different crops and swath sizes
Difficult crop conditions or inconsistent swaths could pose a challenge for the intake rotor. With the Kuhn Power Feed Roller, this belongs in the past. This driven crop roller not only helps to feed in the swath but also actively follows the height of the swath. As it travels upwards and downwards over a 25cm range, it compresses the crop and adds friction simultaneously. Consequently, swath irregularities are compensated for. As inconsistencies in the swaths are smoothed out, a steady crop flow is delivered to the rotor, increasing the potential throughput of the rotor.
Less power peaks in the intake system
A steady crop intake ensures a reduced power requirement and a smooth running of the machine, as peak loads are avoided. Moreover, wear on the machine is also reduced as less strain is applied on the intake.
With significantly higher throughput, lower power requirement, and a reduced risk of blocking or overloading the rotor, this offers a sound solution for customer’s challenging needs, regardless of the baling application.
