Lemken has unveiled its latest innovation in soil cultivation – the Onyx subsoiler, designed to work at depths of up to 60cm
Completing the brand’s tillage line-up, the Onyx offers farmers a professional, versatile solution for tackling tough soil conditions with precision and power.
The new subsoiler comes in two rigid versions: The Onyx MR/300 with a 3m working width, and the Onyx MR/400 at 4m. Built for durability, its carefully welded frame ensures long service life and maximum stability, while the 90cm underframe clearance allows plenty of space for deep operation without clogging. Two beams, spaced 84cm apart, provide a clear, open design that makes inspection and maintenance straightforward.
At the heart of the Onyx is its sophisticated share system, offering two distinct options to suit different soil management goals. Both feature a 42.5cm tine spacing and are hard-faced as standard, with an optional carbide coating for demanding conditions.
The OM (Onyx Mixing share) is mounted on a curved stalk with a guide plate, working at depths of 25-40cm. It loosens soil, mixes organic matter, and improves structure – perfect for medium-depth cultivation and levelling. With hydraulic depth adjustment, operators can make quick changes directly from the tractor seat, adapting seamlessly to changing field conditions.
The OL (Onyx Loosening share), mounted on a straight stalk, is built for deep loosening at 40-60cm. Its lifting action shatters compacted layers such as plough pans, creating micro-cracks that enhance water infiltration and root penetration.
Both share types can be equipped with optional wings to broaden the working effect, achieving more even loosening and improved incorporation of organic material.
For finishing, LEMKEN has paired the Onyx with two rollers: the DSW 580 double spiked roller and the RSW 600 tube bar roller. Thanks to a quick-change roller system, operators can switch between them easily, tailoring the tool to varying soil conditions and ensuring consistent results.
Set for limited release in 2026, the Onyx further strengthens LEMKEN’s offering, giving farmers solutions across the full spectrum of soil management – from deep cultivation and ploughing to reduced tillage and strip-till systems.
