New bite for Jaguar 900 and 800
The Jaguar 900 and 800 forage harvesters have an extra effective bite, thanks to Claas Harvesting’s new chopping cylinder, three new front attachments and a new hydraulic pre-compression system
Claas Harvest Centre product Luke Wheeler, says the new hydraulic pre-compression with intelligent control ensures consistently high chop quality.
"The two rear springs of the pre-compression rollers in the feeder housing have been replaced by hydraulic rams with pressure reservoirs," he says.
"A number of different characteristic maps automatically adjust the pre-compression force to suit different crops or changes in crop flow.
"This solution ensures that consistent chop quality can be maintained, even under difficult conditions."
The new V-MAX chopping cylinder allows the knife carriers to be adjusted in such a way that a symmetrical crop discharge is still ensured during operation with a half-set of knives.
"Used in combination with the appropriate corn cracker, this new cylinder provides an additional range of chop lengths from very short with a full set of knives to very long with half the number of knives," Luke says.
The new payload detection system helps to ensure loaded trailers do not exceed permissible weights.
The Auto Fill operator assistance system for automatic side and rear filling of trailers has also been extended to the Jaguar 800 series.
Claas Harvest Centre, which distributes Claas, Amazone and other leading farm machinery brands in New Zealand and Australia, expects these improvements will be available with all 2018-order machines.
