Ravensdown has appointed Victoria Caseley as a principal planner to develop the consenting capability in its environmental consultancy

Ravensdown Business Manager Environmental, Mark Fitzpatrick, says the decision to provide resource consenting services to customers has been driven by market demand.

"Farmers come to us for assistance in the area of nutrient and environmental management and as part of that, often need a resource consent. Their message to us is clear; rather than the dealing with multiple different consultants, they want a one-stop-shop. So, that’s what we’re delivering.

"We’re excited to have Victoria join the team. She has a wealth of experience from her time in the sector both as a consultant and at the council. She is highly outcome-focussed and really passionate about the agricultural sector as well as environmental planning. Her leadership and drive will be invaluable in expanding this service," Mark says.

Victoria has experience in writing and assessing resource consent applications, as well as reviewing legislation and regional and district plans. These skills will be of great value to the Ravensdown environmental consulting team and ultimately the co-operative’s shareholders.

She has a strong understanding of the process involved in forming district plans, the consenting process and developing strategic plans that require effective engagement across multi-disciplinary teams.

"I’m excited to join the team in what I see as a meaningful role that will enable the effective resolution of planning and environmental issues, providing a real opportunity to make a difference in a sector I am passionate about," says Victoria.

"As a farmer myself, I am well aware of the increasing legislative requirements and costs that are faced by the rural sector. I am a shareholder in Ravensdown and I’m extremely motivated and interested in being able to address the challenges that are faced by the rural sector."
