A fleet of John Deere harvesters were used to create a last minute wedding marquee on a Canada farm

Planning a wedding doesn’t always go to plan, but when you’re a farmer with access to large machinery, creating a last-minute rain shelter relies on some innovative thinking.

Based in Canada, Emily and Austin Lappage’s planned garden wedding turned into a ceremony held under a hastily erected cover stretched over combine harvesters.

"My dad’s crazy last-minute rain shelter was made possible, thanks to some of his machines from Gatez Farms, the help of farm staff and an extra two combines from my uncle, Peter Cissell of Cissell Farms," says Emily.

"We used bale tarps for the roof covering, and it managed to keep the rain off of the tent through a heavy rainfall overnight, and a few spits on the day of our wedding."
