The event attracts a highly focused audience of dairy farmers

“While we maintain the same commitment to excellence and education, this rebranding signifies our dedication to meeting the ever-evolving needs of the dairy industry,” says event co-ordinator Amanda Hodgson.

“This is an event that attracts a highly focused audience of dairy farmers during the workweek, making it an ideal relaxed environment for engagement and networking between milking sessions.

“In the past 18 months, the New Zealand dairy sector has confronted many challenges due to continuous wet weather conditions, leaving a significant impact on farms. In response, we’re thrilled to introduce the New Zealand Dairy Expo, an event dedicated to addressing these challenges, while celebrating the resilience and innovation of the New Zealand dairy industry,” she says.

Hodgson says there has been an obvious trend towards the adoption of new on-farm infrastructure, including innovations in standing off, feeding out, and efficient effluent storage.

A range of technology will be on display

“This way of farming aligns with a broader transition to technology, aimed at simplifying and streamlining day-to-day farming operations. The main goal for most farmers is to enhance the overall farm system, making it not only more efficient but also easier to manage.

“Embracing technology and fit-for-purpose infrastructure is not just about boosting productivity, it’s also well recognised that it contributes to the wellbeing of those working in the New Zealand dairy sector,” she says.

“These initiatives can transform to a complete farm system change and can play a crucial role in safeguarding valuable pastures, reducing feed wastage, benefits to animal health and notable benefits to farm owners and staff.

Hodgson says the expo attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of exhibitors, including tech innovators, infrastructure providers, earthwork specialists, pond tank and bladder companies, fertiliser suppliers, dairy industry professionals, advisory businesses, engineering firms, regulatory bodies and many more.
