Siloking milestone

German mixer wagon specialist Siloking has reached a major milestone of having sold 2000 self-propelled units worldwide

The family-run company based in Bavaria manufactures a wide portfolio of Total Mixed Ration feeders and is now celebrating the popularity of its self-propelled models.

Since the launch of its first self-propelled feeder in 2004, Siloking has developed into the market leader in Germany and is advancing further into the global market.

Siloking say its success story started in 2004 at the big livestock equipment show EuroTier held in Germany when it presented the first Siloking self-propelled machine with three-point-chassis.

This pioneering achievement was the result of several years of development, combined with a lot of practical experience gained from a number of dairy farms. At that time, Siloking introduced the first model as ‘a machine that can load, mix, drive, and present feed’ and it later won a DLG gold medal at the show.

Sascha Behrend, Siloking sales manager, says, “It’s our aim to extend the core business as the market for self-propelled is growing continuously. With our comprehensive product range and equipment versions, we can offer the solutions for any requirements worldwide.

“This growth is based on individual farms specialising spending less time feeding but with more precision and comfort. Feed costs are getting more and more important too. Here, the efficient use of the self-propelled can play to its strengths, with exact feed loading and minimal feed losses.

“Our machines face the challenge of extreme climate conditions worldwide, on 365 days a year.”

Looking at different markets across the world, feeders have to operate in more than 50 degrees Celsius in the peak of summer in Israel and down to minus 40 degrees Celsius in parts of Russia in winter, and Siloking is already meeting those challenges.
