The 2024 Southern Field Days attracted its biggest crowd ever. Here's a quick look at what was on display.
It’s been a long wait for Southland to host the Southern Field Days at the iconic Waimumu site, but it turns out, the wait only whet the appetite of exhibitors and visitors, with the 2024 event attracting its biggest crowd ever.
Southern Field Days chairman Steve Henderson says a conservative estimate is around 45,000 people through the gates.
“That’s our largest crowd ever, which we’re really thrilled about, as an enormous amount of work goes into the logistics and preparation of hosting an event like this,” he says.
“We’ve had great feedback from exhibitors and visitors, and there’s no doubt the field days serve the rural community with a unique opportunity to catch up with friends and neighbours, as well as enabling discussions with businesses of interest.”
With a massive sold-out site of 760 exhibitors, this truly was a show for everyone.
“We’re already looking forward to being back in 2026, and as always, after any event, we’ll make some tweaks and continue striving to constantly improve.”
