Matamata Ag Centre introduces the new WX Imants Spader to NZ — a machine built to tackle heavy soils and improve soil health
Matamata Ag Centre has built its reputation as a family-run business that understands what farmers need most – reliable machinery, quality parts, and the expertise to keep everything running when it matters.
From new and second-hand equipment to workshop services covering mechanical, engineering, and hydraulic hose repairs, the team is committed to solutions that stand the test of time.
Recently added to its offerings and new to New Zealand is the WX Imants Spader. While the SX Imants Spader has already been in the country for more than two decades, the WX model is designed to go further, tackling heavier soils like clay as well as loam and sand.
Unique design and positioning of the spades on the rotor allows organic matter to be thoroughly incorporated into the soil, creating a healthy, homogenous structure in just one pass.
These benefits drew the attention of Stijn from Caldwell Contracting, who reached out to Matamata Ag as the New Zealand agents. Working alongside Imants, they looked at the challenges faced in recent years – weather disruptions, delays in getting onto paddocks, and the demands of varying soil types. The goal was clear: find a machine that works with the soil to boost production while also improving soil health.
The WX Series Spader ticked every box. With its differently shaped blades, it’s able to dig deeper into heavier soils, helping farmers address long-standing constraints and build resilience for the seasons ahead.
For Matamata Ag, the arrival of the WX Imants Spader isn’t just about adding a new machine to the range – it’s about giving New Zealand farmers access to technology that nurtures the land as much as it lifts productivity. And with soil health top of mind after years of tough conditions, that’s a benefit local farmers can dig into.
