Equipment supplier Stevens Group recently sold its 10,000 Walker mower since its introduction into New Zealand 35 years ago
The legendary Walker Mowers were first imported from the US into New Zealand in 1988 and gained a quick reputation for innovation, quality, and ease of use.
The company says the tractor was a great product, however, the mower didn’t work well in New Zealand conditions.
After almost abandoning the idea, Stevens persevered with modifications until it worked.
Walker mowers are now available with a range of out-front cutting decks, which can be configured for collection, mulching, and other purposes.
Stevens Group customises Walker mowers especially for New Zealand’s unique conditions, ensuring reliable, efficient operation backed by great aftersales service and support.
The mower’s compact size and zero turn manoeuvrability allows mowing and trimming in small, landscaped areas and reduces mowing tim.
“We’re delighted to have reached a milestone of Walker Mower sales in New Zealand. It’s with great pride that several New Zealand-approved Walker dealers (among worldwide) have been ranked and been awarded in the annual Top 50 Walker Dealers — class of 2022,” says Stevens Group general manager Ken Johnston.
“We value our relationship and support with Walker and are committed to the continued success of mowers in the New Zealand market. Over the past 35 years, we’ve had great passion for the development of Walker Mowers.
“Customer care is at the heart of Stevens’ offerings, and we aim to give them the best possible experience by perfecting the products that we sell to work optimally in the New Zealand market.”
