The 5.5-metre-long NZ5500 trailer is designed specifically for the Kiwi market to meet the demands of NZ's rugged landscape
Stewart Trailers produces a range of agricultural trailers from small four-tonne models up to 24-tonne tri-axle machines in a variety of configurations: tipper, silage, construction, flat deck, low loader, and livestock crates.
One of the most popular models here is the Stewart NZ5500 – unsurprising as it’s designed specifically for the Kiwi market.
The team behind Stewart Trailers in New Zealand, TRC Tractors, and Ikon Machinery, asked contracting clients what they needed and wanted in their ideal trailer and then set about creating the ultimate trailer.
Feedback from farmers and contractors was consistent and included a long deck, a fixed headboard, the ability to add a hay extension, plus gravel sides, and a silage bin – all making for a highly versatile trailer.
Unlike many European users who are accustomed to having a separate machine for each job, Kiwi farmers and contractors value the ability to have one versatile piece of quality machinery that can be used for a multitude of tasks.
Working alongside the Stewart Trailers team in Scotland, the trailer was created, and the NZ5500 landed on Kiwi shores.
The 5.5-metre-long trailer is designed a little wider to fit two bales side-by-side on the 2.7-metre deck comfortably. Stewart Trailers’ motto is ‘bigger, stronger, tougher’, and the NZ5500 certainly lives up to that. It’s all in the details, which have been customised to accommodate the demands of New Zealand’s rugged landscape and the variety of demands placed on this trailer model.
Boasting top-quality build and finish, these trailers are designed and built to last – from the Hardox steel bodies to the Flexi paint job, every aspect is designed around ongoing performance and longevity.
Available through TRC Tractors as the North Island distributor and IKON Machinery as the South Island distributor, the Stewart Trailers range is certainly here to impress – and stay.
