The new Polaris Ranger 500 EFI has been re-engineered to feature an armoured front end that protects several key elements – the radiator, cooling system, headlights and front differential. The bumper with heavy-duty bash plate also offers dedicated vehicle tie down points, massive central tow hook and inset tow hook cage.

The 500 cab features more leg room in ’09, and has redesigned and relocated components for improved operator comfort. A highlight is the new tilt steering, which Polaris says makes steering easier and helps manoeuvrability. The 500 also offers anti-kickback steering that reduces feedback over bumps and makes the vehicle more responsive.

The engine is a 498cc four-valve, four-stroke single cylinder with 32hp, and has a top speed of around 66-70kph on level ground.

New for the 500 EFI Ranger is the adjustable Dual A-Arm front suspension in addition to its independent rear suspension. The new model also features motion ratio and preload suspension adjustment front and rear, which increases the initial spring compression for a 30% stiffer ride.
