The Claas Lexion 8000 and 7000 harvesters that arrive in Australasia next year will boast a greater tank volume, improved operator assistance systems, and a brand-new cab

Improved fuel efficiency as well as a more powerful engine

That’s in addition to a more powerful engine in the top-of-the-line Lexion 8800 model, which now boasts a 16.2-litre MAN D42 six-cylinder engine that produces a maximum output of 700hp.
The 8700, 7700, and 7600 models retain the proven 12.5-litre six-cylinder Perkins 2206 D engine that delivers 571, 524, or 461hp, respectively.
Claas Harvest Centre product manager for the Lexion, Steve Reeves, says all the new engines come equipped with both Claas’ on-demand variable-drive Dynamic Cooling system and the Dynamic Power engine management system that adjusts power for better fuel efficiency.

"This system has been proven to deliver fuel savings of up to 10%," Reeves says.
Grain bins with a capacity of either 15,000 or 18,000 litres are available on the 8000 Terra Trac models, while the 7000 Terra Trac models can be fitted with 12,500 or 13,500-litre grain bins.
"The 420 and 330mm diameter unloading augers can be fitted with a pivoting spout that allows precise control of the grain stream by up to 60 cm," Reeves adds.
"The spout can be operated via the CMotion multifunction control lever in
the cabin."
In the cab, the 2023 delivery machines will have larger front and side windows, thinner A-pillars, and a cantilevered mirror design that delivers a premium view of the header.
A new 360-degree wiper ensures a wide field of vision ahead in wet or dusty harvesting conditions, while a 30-litre cooler, multimedia package, swivelling leather seat, footrests, and 360-degree LED lighting are additional creature comforts.
Information is displayed on Claas’ new 12-inch (30cm) CEBIS terminal, featuring a high-resolution, high-contrast display with three adjustable main display areas.
"A second 12-inch CEBIS 1200 terminal can be positioned on the right-hand side of the cab if the GPS Pilot automated steering system is fitted," Reeves says.
Claas’ Cemos machine optimisation system now also features a new dialogue-based system that guides the operator through the calibration process to reduce grain loss, as well as the Cemos Connect system that allows machine settings to be transferred to other devices.
