SAM hydraulic trailers have been working on New Zealand farms for decades, and now, with a new painting procedure that includes thermal arcing, the trailers are even more durable.

"Genuine SAM gear is built to last. Long-term reliability for our customers is our goal. Our designs are all based on this principle," says SAM general manager, Tim Ellingham.

The process has been used by SAM for years for corrosion protection across their fertiliser spreader range. With the company investing in an in-house painting facility, the process has been extended across the entire range. All machines now get a steel grit abrasive blast and receive a thermal-arc pure zinc spray.

The SAM trailer range is known for superior construction, practical design, and extreme strength. Four, six, eight, and 10-tonne models are available.

All come standard with easy-to-use drop-down sides that allow easy access to the deck for side loading. A corten steel deck for superior strength and a versatile tailboard are standard.

Tim says that high-end components are used, including reliable multi-stage hydraulic rams sourced from Italy.

"The deck sizes are nice and wide to fit round bales and generous when compared to others on the market."

Optional extras include ladders, toolboxes, hay extensions, lights, brakes, and swinging tailgate.

The trailers complement the wider SAM range, which includes feed wagons, fertiliser spreaders, orchard spreaders, and quick hitches. All are designed and manufactured in New Zealand from the heart of the Waikato and the range is backed by a quick parts service from central Hamilton. The team is also available for technical help.
