Independent Wrap imports a full offering of crop packaging products

From humble beginnings and with a lot of determination, the business was established and initially serviced the top half of the North Island.
Today, Independent Wrap is sold throughout New Zealand by a small but dedicated team of staff who offer exceptional customer service to align with the company’s main focus: ‘Service is key – grass doesn’t wait’.
The business imports a full offering of crop packaging products that include silage wrap, bale net, net replacement film, and twine and silage pit covers.
The full offering of Barbier silage wraps is imported, which allows an option for every customer: Titan is the top-of-the-range, high-quality, seven-layer film that will stand up to the toughest application conditions and has a high puncture resistance that stalky crops won’t be able to push through; Classic is an economical standard silage wrap that still boasts a five-layer manufacturing technology; Expert is a 1900-metre, 21µm, seven-layer wrap that enables fewer roll changes and higher productivity while retaining performance, with more solutions in between to meet all requirements. Barbier silage wraps are known for their high performance and consistency – less tails, less tearing, high puncture resistance, and the ability to have every roll run out at the same time, every time, which means less hassle and more efficient time in the seat. Barbier quality control is second-to-none – every container has a good number of random quality control checks carried out before dispatch, enabling any issues to be sorted before it gets to the end user and to allow continued production of the high-quality product.

The latest addition to the Independent Wrap range is a product called ecoAGRO – a 750mm wide silage wrap that’s made from 100% recycled plastic. After trials over two years in New Zealand conditions, ecoAGRO is proving to be a great wrap that will both help support a circular economy where waste product can be re-purposed and perform to a high standard, enabling the production of high-quality forage at a competitive price. EcoAGRO has been manufactured to allow application to bales through any type of bale wrapper. It has the same manufacturer’s warranty once applied to the bale and can still be stretched to 70%.
Independent Wrap imports bale net from the second biggest net manufacturer in the world and have a solution for all balers. Juta has been the twine supplier since Independent Wrap’s inception and has proven performance in New Zealand conditions. Pit covers come in sizes from 12- to 24-metre wide with oxygen barrier film options available.
Independent Wrap has products landed and in-store now, with supply looking good. Orders have been placed and shipped early to avoid delays and disappointment coming into the coming silage season. The sales team is currently getting out and about with new season’s pricing.
