Brownrigg Agri Gear continues growing its offering of quality agricultural machinery, offering SlurryKat trailers and tankers, Donnelly trailers, and, more recently, SLS low loaders

The SlurryKat offerings were a popular drawcard at Southern Field Days

The business began back in 2016 when Gavin Brownrigg, who was working in the Waikato agricultural contracting industry at the time, saw an opening for a well-built multi-purpose trailer and began importing Donnelly trailers.

Having grown up on a tillage and dry stock farm in Ireland, Gavin always had a keen interest in farming and farm machinery. After leaving school, he worked full-time as an ag contractor for five years before coming to New Zealand, where he worked for a further 12 years as an
ag contractor.

Donnelly Trailers

Since his early association with the brand, Gavin has been able to work closely with Donnelly in Ireland, refining the design to create a trailer specifically geared to meet the demands of New Zealand conditions and contractor needs.

Available from 14 to 18 tonnes, the versatility of these trailers allows them to be used for many functions. The Donnelly Trailer is a silage trailer that can be turned into a flatbed trailer for moving bales, or dirt sides can be added to turn it into a dump trailer.

SlurryKat

Adding the popular SlurryKat range, also manufactured in Ireland, saw the business grow again and today’s SlurryKat range includes 10- and 14-tonne drop-side tippers, the 25-tonne SDT-Silage Dump Trailer (with new arrivals just landed in time for maize harvest), and the Pro Line Silage Trailers. Alongside the SlurryKat trailers, the range of slurry equipment includes pond stirrers, effluent tankers ranging in size from single/tandem/tri-axle units, and a variety of application options in terms of dribble bars.

Umbilical systems from SlurryKat

Brownrigg Agri Gear also offers full umbilical systems and Doda pumps, reels, hose, and dribble bars, which can be used on SlurryKat tankers, providing a versatile array of spreading options. Tankers and umbilical systems can be base spec for those looking to cover the basic bases at a lower initial cost or spec’d up enough to ensure accurate spreading with flow meters, etc. for proof of placement.

Another key feature of the SlurryKat range is the quality paint work, using a
two-pack paint system, which is oven-baked and ensures long-life protection of the trailers and tankers, while also being lighter than the alternative galvanized option.

The S355 special-grade high-tensile steel is also used throughout the SlurryKat range. This provides strength without the extra weight of a lower-grade, thicker steel. It’s also useful for those who factor in the running costs incurred from heavier machinery.

SLS low loaders

The most recent addition to the line-up of Brownrigg Agri Gear equipment is the SLS low loader, ranging from 19- to 30-tonne and capable of shifting a variety of gear between farms or jobs.

The SLS PRO range (19- and 27-tonne) is designed for use with higher-speed tractors, while the 21-tonne PRO low loader is designed to transport the modern-day medium-sized excavator. The top-end 30-tonne PRO low loader is designed for its great carrying capacity.

SLS Trailers are the newest addition to the Brownrigg Agri Gear portfolio

Available options include toolboxes, air and hydraulic brake options, hydraulic ramps, or a triangle wedge.

For those with a focus on contracting or haulage, Brownrigg Agri Gear​ offers the Bullet Tarp System, designed to suit trucks and trailers up to 23 feet long to help secure loads when transporting. Easily operated from within the cab, this handy addition saves time on every load. Available with either straight or 30-degree angled arms of anodized aluminium that will never rust, the tarp moves smoothly on an extruded aluminium roller bar, powered by the Durabuilt™ 12V direct-drive electric motor with a rotary switch. Optional upgrades include a 40-amp Durabuilt rocker switch kit with solenoid, wind deflectors, pivot armrests, and spring trap and tarp trap hold-downs.
