This new model offers high productivity, best ground tracking, and excellent manoeuvrability. With an adjustable hydraulic working width between 7.7 and 8.4 metres, the TOP 842C centre-swather is built specifically for high performance. With durability and reliability as its main attributes, it is an ideal swather for professional contractors or larger farmers.

The TOP 842C allows a turning angle of 73 degrees to guarantee excellent manoeuvrability on the headlands. This also results in a perfect swath and corners easy for the harvester or baler operator to follow.

"A new Toptech Plus rotor unit is fitted with 13 tine arms, one more than most other rakes in this size. This results in a better and more uniform swath, with less load per tine arm for higher reliability," Origin Agroup managing director David Donnelly says.

Origin Agroup is New Zealand’s importer for Pottinger. The rotor also boasts an adjustable cam track with the largest diameter of 420mm and a tine arm bearing spacing of 700mm. The tine arms are easy to replace in the field using just two bolts.

The new rotor unit offers higher power, strength, and reliability at the same time as ease of maintenance. Despite the impressive rotor diameter, the transport height remains below four metres without having to remove any of the tine arms.

Using the hydraulic working width adjustment system, the two rotor units are moved into the correct position for folding ready for transport. Both rotor units are also locked in the transport position.

Lighting and mudguards are provided as standard and wide 380/55-17 road tyres are fitted standard for New Zealand conditions providing safe handling and higher stability in hilly terrain.

The five-wheel chassis with a front Multitast jockey wheel is a unique proven Pottinger system delivering excellent ground tracking and less soil contamination in the forage as well as greatly reduced tine breakages.

Operating the rake is simple, using one single-acting connection and adjusting the working width with one double-acting connection. As an option, a flow splitter and individual rotor lifting system with convenient hydraulic interlock catches are also available.
